Karen Haught - Executive Director

Karen Haught became the Executive Director in April of 2012. Karen is a graduate of West Liberty University and has a diverse background which includes 28 years of business management, 30 years teaching experience, non-profit management, and sales consulting. She is tasked with overseeing the day to day needs of the organization, writing the budget, procuring funds through grants, fundraising and donations, project development, marketing and human resource management. Karen is always looking for opportunities and projects for The Seeing Hand and believes her work will not be done until every blind and visually impaired individual has the same opportunities as their sighted peers.

Bob Hicks - Access Technology Specialist

Bob Hicks, a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University, has 11 years of experience working directly with the blind and visually impaired in computer access technology. Bob came to us from the largely unemployed world of the blind and visually impaired. Bob is a graduate of the National Industries of the Blind Business Management Training course given by the University Of Virginia Darden School Of Business in October 2007. Bob is actively involved in the local chapter and state affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind. Bob coordinates the “Cheerful Bowlers” bowling league for the blind and visually impaired and "Camp Independence" our summer camp for youth.

Theresa Kurtz - Operation Manager

Theresa Kurtz is a certified Activities Director with a background in medical services. Theresa joined the staff in May of 2009. Theresa has had extensive experience with diabetics and most of the major maladies which affect our senior citizens. Theresa's main focus as Community Outreach Coordinator is to be in the community attending Health Fairs as well as assisting individuals with their needs in their home and at our office.
