Bob Hicks, a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University, has four years of experience working directly with the blind and visually impaired in computer access technology. Bob is actively involved in the local chapter and state affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind. Bob coordinates the “Cheerful Bowlers’” bowling league for the blind and visually impaired and our summer camp for youth. Bob facilitates support groups for the blind.

Lisa Kucera, Business Manager has six years working directly with the blind and visually impaired as instructor, trainer and job coach. In addition to financial services, Lisa utilizes her skill to provide marketing services for our products and services and manages our gift shop. Lisa assists the blind and visually impaired in planning and coordinating their various recreational and leisure activities.

Joyce Britt has a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling. Joyce has worked with the blind and visually impaired for the last three years. Joyce has a long history in the delivery of social services as a licensed social worker in states of Ohio and West Virginia. Joyce provides life skills, career and vocational, Ticket-to-Work, support groups, workshop planning and coordination and general over sight of services for the blind and visually impaired.

Alvin Schafer, President/CEO has a master’s degree and 30 years of experience as an administrator of social service programs. Alvin has been CEO of the association for five years and during that time strategic planning and board development has been a major focus. Two major accomplishments in the strategic planning are the development of a low vision clinic and computerization with computer access technology for the blind and visually impaired.
